Riso 101 Orientation April 17 & 24
Thursday April 17 & 24, 6:00-9:00pm
Learn to operate the WIP risographs during this two session orientation in order to use them independently during member hours or Open Copy. Learn how to switch ink colors and register multiple color layers. We will cover two ways to separate an image into layers for printing: manually with cut paper stencils, and digitally. This workshop covers every skill you’ll need to make riso prints on WIP’s equipment, but does not cover booklet layout (imposition).
Please bring two physical collages that measure 6x8 inches to the first session of the workshop. We will create a print from each collage.
If you have extensive riso experience, you may be able to use the WIP machines without taking this workshop—you’ll need to be a riso club member and schedule a 15-minute riso operator test by emailing info@wipmpls.com. Keep in mind that our machines are around 30 years old; if you’ve only worked on newer machines our Riso Operation 101 workshop might still be useful.
